I've been working on this image on and off over the past 3 weeks. Drawn by hand with mechanical pencils, ink, chalk, acrylic paint and then tweaked using photoshop.

It's a design for a woodland guardian type character. I haven't decided whether it is good or evil yet and I plan to continue developing the character.

I think the magpies are meant to be his 'eyes'.

The plan was to paint/colour it digitally, but I went too far in the drawing stage, rendering the whole thing, so once it was on the computer I risked painting over all the texturing I'd already drawn. So I decided to leave it for now. I like the result, it's just not quite what I intended.

Excellent. I especially like how the roots/branches come off the edge and forward in the lower right corner.

I'm sick of these monkey fightin' snakes on this Monday through Friday plane.

Magnificent. I like the strong contrast and the amount of detail pleases the eye. The composition with the frames is interesting, too.

At first glance I thought I was looking only at magpies and branches, but then I started to regocnize something more. I really like picures like that! Have a +fav.
Oh, this is truly, utterly fantastic one!

Die for your home, religion and homeland! Well... that home I can take, but religion and homeland I must think twice...
Why so little exposure for such an amazing work of art :(

Light is hard and then you die.
Thank you. This is definately one of my more popular pieces. I had a good time drawing it too :).
