The Sleeping Deep - Eel Demon

I'm currently working on some concept designs for a film script 'The Sleeping Deep'. Jeff Palmer is the scriptwriter/director and my client. Over the past few weeks we've been designing the appearance of the Eel Demon that manifests in the story. Intrigued?

The Sleeping Deep is what I’d call a psychological, fantasy horror with its roots based firmly in history and folklore. It’s clear upon reading the script that the monsters need to be as believable as possible, despite being entirely fictional and eventually born onto screen via CGI. Therefore, this final Eel Demon design was influenced by a mixture of sea creatures that exist in real-life; various breeds of eel and deep sea fish merging to form the design shown here.
